Gradient induced voltages
The leads of an active implantable medical device (AIMD) can be quite long. If there is a potential between the distal and proximal part of the lead, this can result in stimulation of the AIMD or in injury of the adjacent tissue. The pulsed gradient field can cause such a potential between the proximal and distal part of the lead, which should be avoided.
MR:comp has been officially accredited to conduct tests of gradient induced voltages according to ISO/TS 10974 Clause 13: Measurement of induced electrical potential.
